St. Clare’s Mission

Promoting God’s love and peace, St. Clare’s Retreat Center is an apostolic ministry of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows, a congregation living the Rule of St. Francis of Assisi.  

Owned and operated by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for over 70 years, this “island of peace in a troubled world” provides retreatants with the ideal spiritual and natural setting to come away and rest in Christ through solitude, silence, prayer, inspiring conferences and the reception of the Holy Sacraments.  For all those seeking to nurture a life of prayer and renewed holiness of life, this serene oasis allows retreatants to respond to Jesus’ personal invitation to “come away by yourselves…” (Mark 6:31) – resting in His Divine Heart and experiencing His wellspring of grace!
