What do we do when we face dryness in prayer?

This retreat will address the renewal of our spiritual life in the modern world. Too often our spiritual worship becomes a habit and loses its inner meaning; it becomes value-less. Too often our religion is saying the words, but we don’t mean them. We will seek to integrate the reality of the spiritual life back into every aspect of our lives. It has been said that fake prayer is saying the words while real prayer is meaning the words we say and being aware of the person to whom they are said. May this be an encounter with the living God!

Fr. Dominic DeMaio is a member of the Western Dominican Province. His education includes a B.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Theology from the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, CA. Before entering the Dominicans, Fr. DeMaio studied International Studies and Spanish at the University of Oregon. His experience includes serving in parish ministry in Anchorage, Alaska, Mexicali, Mexico and at St. Dominic’s Parish in Los Angeles, California. Fr. DeMaio is currently an itinerant preacher giving Parish Missions in English and Spanish as well as pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry at Barry University.

Fr. Serge Propst is a Dominican Priest who presents multiple retreats each year while also serving as an Adjunct Professor at the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, CA.
